Alberto Federico Acosta (born 23 August 1966 in Arocena), known popularly as "Beto" Acosta, is an Argentine former football striker.

Acosta is probably most famous for becoming the top scorer in South American football in 1994. He scored a total of 33 goals to claim the title.

He played his first professional game for Unión de Santa Fe in 1986. In 1988 he moved to San Lorenzo de Almagro, a club he would play for in four spells during his career.

He also played for Boca Juniors in Argentina, Toulouse in France, Universidad Católica in Chile, Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan and Sporting Portugal in Portugal. He was one of the keys for Sporting's title in the 1999–2000 season (which failed to come to Alvalade for 18 years) and is still cherished and fondly remembered among fans. In Universidad Católica and San Lorenzo made a great society with the also former argentinian international football player Nestor Gorosito He was manager of Boca Juniors between 10 June and 20 August 2006.
