[edit] Music and lyrics

The song title refers to a Maasai, an African nomadic people, tradition in which cow blood and curdled milk is consumed during special occasions. This is supported by tribal chanting at the beginning of the song which is being played backwards along with the use of instruments. The lyrics describe one lusting for love who is drawn to the call of a siren, a mythical creature who lures unsuspecting victims to their demise. The chanting heard in the middle and at the end of the song are also a reference to the siren's song. The album version is accompanied by the instrumental "Where The Sidewalk Ends, The Bug Parade Begins" after the silence at the end of the song.

[edit] Cover versions

In 2000, the song was covered by the Moravian ethno metal band Silent Stream Of Godless Elegy for the White Zombie tribute album Super-Charger Hell.

[edit] Appearances

The song is currently used as entrance music by Baltimore Orioles closer George Sherrill. Rabbit in the Moon remixed this song for their compilation Rabbit In the Moon Remixes Volume 1 while PM Dawn remixed it for the Supersexy Swingin' Sounds remix compilation.
