Căianu (Hungarian: Magyarkályán, German: Klandorf) is a commune in Cluj County, Romania.

According to the 2002 census, Romanians made up 60.03% of the population, Hungarians made up 38.09% and Roma made up 1.86%. In the commune both Romanian and Hungarian languages are used in public signage, education, justice and access to public administration.
