Casey Royer (born October 8, 1958 [1]) is an American musician who began his career playing drums for punk band, Social Distortion in 1979. He then moved on to play for The Adolescents from 1980–87. While The Adolescents were on hiatus from 1981–86, Casey went on to form D.I., a Southern California punk band, who are still recording records and touring today. When The Adolescents regrouped in 1986, Casey returned to start working on the new album, Brats in Battalions, but wanting to keep D.I. going, he left before the album was recorded. Casey also jumped on the ADZ bandwagon from 1989–93, after which he again made D.I. his primary focus. After releasing one more album with D.I. in 1994, the band called it quits in 1995, but got back together in 1997 and has continued performing ever since. Casey then played with The Adolescents in 2001-2002, but he was still a member of D.I. at the time. To date, Royer has been the only remaining original member of the band.
