This is a list of Chinese-based film studios.

Note, in general parlance, the term "film studio" is synonymous with "major film production company," due largely to the fact that the leading production companies of Hollywood's "Golden Age"—stretching from the late 1920s to the late 1940s—owned their own studio facilities, as do a few today. The situation was similar in the Chinese movie business of the 1920s-1940s. However, today, the majority of production companies have never owned their own studios, as such, this list should only include film studios proper i.e. Studios and production companies that had or have their own studios.
