A conventional weapon or conventional arm is a weapon that is not forbidden according to conventions, such as the Convention on Cluster Munitions or the Ottawa Treaty. Although the term 'conventional weapons' is primarily used to refer to explosive weapons the UN Convention on Conventional Weapons also includes controls on blinding laser, incendiary weapons and cluster munitions.
