Coten End Primary School is the largest primary school in Warwick, Warwickshire with 420 children enrolled.[1] It is controlled by the local authority, Warwickshire County Council and operates two classes for each of the seven year groups of children aged 4 – 11 who attend the school. The schools’ last Ofsted assessment in February 2007 concluded the school was "good with many outstanding features"[2]
[edit] History
The school opened in 1884 as a Junior School as Coten End Board School [3] and some of the original buildings are still in use. In 1951 a fire destroyed six classrooms and the main hall. The site was expanded in 1971 to incorporate a separate Infant School. In 1996 the Infants and Juniors merged and renamed Coten End Primary School.
