Fabián Alberto Cubero, nicknamed Poroto (bean), (born 21 December 1978 in Mar del Plata) is a footballer playing for Vélez Sársfield in the Primera División Argentina. He is a tough tackling and versatile defender or midfielder.

In Argentina Cubero has only played for Vélez Sársfield. He won with the club the 1998 Clausura, where he was not a usual first team player, and the 2005 Clausura, where he was an important first team player and scored the first goal against Estudiantes LP in the 3-0 that confirmed Vélez as champions.

In 2007 he went to play to Mexico for UANL Tigres but returned to Vélez for the 2008-09 season. He was a regular starter as center midfielder during the Torneo Apertura (first half of the season). However, when Ricardo Gareca took the manager position in Vélez for the Torneo Clausura Cubero started playing as right-back. After Nicolás Cabrera and Darío Ocampo's injuries Cubero played the last games of the season as right midfielder. Finally, Vélez won the Torneo Clausura, Cubero's third championship in the club.

In 1997 he was part of the Argentina Under-20 team that won the World Youth Cup in Malaysia.

Cubero is in a popular romantic relationship with Argentine model Nicole Neumann since 2006. They are married and have a daughter named Indiana. He is also recognized for his high-pitched voice.
