Patrón is a luxury brand of tequila produced in Mexico and sold in hand-blown, cork-finished, individually numbered bottles.
Made entirely from agave, Patrón comes in five varieties: Silver, Añejo, Reposado and the upscale Gran Patrón silver and Gran Patrón añejo. It has the fastest growing sales of any tequila in the United States.[1]
Patrón also sells a tequila-coffee blend known as Patrón XO Cafe and a triple sec, Patrón Citrónge. The company has introduced a high-end, limited distribution tequila Gran Patrón Burdeos Añejo.[2]
Among other liquors, Patrón is notable for its frequent mention in popular American Pop, Hip-Hop, and R&B songs.
[edit] History
