San Andrés (in English "Saint Andrew") is a village located in the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. It is located 10 km from the capital city if Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it is in a coastal area and is located by the Anaga mountains. It is administratively a part of the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The village is situated on a mountain slope with an urban area locating near the valley and the beach. San Andrés is one of the oldest villages of the Canary Islands, was founded around 1497.

San Andrés has about 4.000 people and until 1940 was accessed with only by footpath. With the construction of a coastal road with Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the village became connected with the road to the capital. A fortress used to exist, it was destroyed by storms in 1740 and 1896 and 1706, a tower was built. The Spanish court stopped larger tourist properties in 1984.
In 1973 the administration brought 4 million bags of Sahara sand to the island into the Las Teresitas beach and improved the infrastructure with parking lots.
Also in a cave to the suburbs of this locality there was San Andrés's famous Mummy, a mummified body belonging to the guanche culture who nowadays remains in the Museum of the Nature and the Man in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. They are called this lean guanche a San Andrés's Mummy, in the honor to the place where she was found.
In Macizo de Anaga (to the suburbs of this population), one finds the zone of "El Bailadero", called this way because according to the old legends, it was the place where the witches were dancing around a bonfire and they practicing witchcraft.
San Andres's Church Apostle, was constructed on a structure of a previous period. In this temple is an ancient wooden sculpture of St. Andrew the Apostle, whose feast is celebrated on November 30 and is the patron saint of this locality. Also in San Andrés one finds a former castle, which was done to defend Tenerife of the assaults of the pirates.

Residents of San Andrés lives primarily with fishing. Tourism is also common and created a number of jobs. The town features hotels, retirement homes, apartments and villas.

Not far from San Andrés is the beach named Playa de las Gaviotas, a 200 m-long white volcanic sand beach by Igueste de San Andrés. The depth by the coastline is 180 m.
