Thierry Aubin (May 6, 1942 -- March 21, 2009) was a French mathematician at Centre de Mathématiques de Jussieu who worked on Riemannian geometry and non-linear partial differential equations. He showed that Kaehler manifolds with negative first Chern classes have Kähler–Einstein metrics, a result closely related to the Calabi conjecture.
He was elected to the Académie des sciences in 2003.
