[edit] Removal of EPMD image
Hello again, we had talked a short while ago regarding your recent action to remove an image from the EPMD article. To refresh your memory, the image was a photograph of an EPMD t-shirt from their 1991 tour for their album Business As Usual. In the meantime, I have brought this concern in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/Noticeboard for further discussion. The concern has now been up for nearly a month and has yet to generate any other Wikipedia contributors that either agree or disagree the image should be removed from the article.
I respect the effort you have put into building Wikipedia articles, however in this case, I would disagree with your decision, though your intentions may be well. Please take a moment to read my rebuttal to your decision:
-
- I feel that including the image is relevant to the article: it is a piece of memorabilia related to the group's 1991 national tour to promote their album Business As Usual. It provides the reader with a visual counterpart that reveals one aspect of the group's history.
-
- I disagree with this point as the EPMD article only contains one image (and, a poorly taken photograph at that) and therefore I cannot comprehend how it could add any sort of clutter. I would air on the side of adding more content to the article than on restricting it, so long as it meets the guidelines of Wikipedia
I can see how you may be skeptical on allowing images that do not directly depict the subject directly. However the use of including images that are indirectly related to the subject of an article is an acceptable practice on Wikipedia. For example, take the article for Dennis Rodman, the former NBA basketball player. As you can see, the article contains images of subjects other than Rodman himself -- for example: photos of former teammates and a picture of the arena he played in. I bring this article up as an example not only because it contains these types of images, but that it has also been rated as a "Good Article (GA)", one of the highest ratings an article on Wikipedia can receive, despite the types of images included to the article.
The reason I am being persistent here is because I have taken other images of hip-hop memorabilia and would like to add those into articles once this point of contention can be resolved. If you would like a second opinion, please feel free to bring this topic up on another WikiProject forum. I hope you can understand why I believe the image should be put back onto the article.
Warm regards, --Djrun (talk) 23:02, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (File:Tales of II Andres.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Tales of II Andres.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

The article Krazy (rapper) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. See WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:34, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- I restored with a prod tag -- you need to find some sources, and not just copy the 504 Boyz page. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:41, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] File:NewJackCityII.jpg
Yeah, about that. Why are you reverting it? The one I posted is the proper album cover. The colors are better and there's less saturation then the one you originally posted. Now I don't mind if you post an explination for why you're reverting it but you just reverted it without any explination. Can you please stop reverting this image and next time give out an explination for why you are reverting it. I don't want this to turn into a revert war. --Taylor Karras (talk) 20:37, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
