Multi-columned quota?
Although not disagreeing with your reversion, however, I wasn't aware of any quota or specific number of references that prompt the change to a multi-columned reference list. I looked where I thought it would be, but I don't see anything along those lines. Could you point me in the right direction? Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 01:27, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- I don't believe there is a guideline on that. It was totally a judgement call on my part, and in my opinion, if you have only four or five lines on each side, you're not ready for a two-columned reflist. The way I see it, if you're going two-columned, it should be a bit more substantial than that. At the very least, I'd say to go two-columned, it should be about as long as the current reference list is as one column on both sides.
- I've also gone three-columned in articles because there were a ton of references, but a lot of whitespace in the list, and used that to tighten up the list. So really, it's a judgement call on what looks best. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:45, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Your name was mentioned when I asked for assistance on a wikinews item
Wikinews item is here : http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Washington_Metro_collison_kills_two Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:30, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know, though I'm not quite ready to write objectively about it just yet. I'm still settling down after a stressful four-hour commute due to the accident (my normal commute goes through the affected area). SchuminWeb (Talk) 02:31, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
thank you
Thank you for taking the Washington Metro photo. It is better to have our own photo rather than stealing it from a news website! Well done! User F203 (talk) 19:01, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Glad to be of assistance. I knew I had photos of the above-ground sections of the B Route from a railfan trip that I did about a year ago, and after studying the news photos and Google Earth to verify the location, I was surprised to see that I did in fact have a photo of the area where the accident occurred. Re: 1982 Washington Metro train derailment
Thanks! It was my pleasure. After the events of the last week, I decided to hit the Lexis Nexis for info on the incident. Also, I'll probably work at adding additional history for the various stations similiar to that of Vienna/Fairfax–GMU over the summer as I can get to it. Patriarca12 (talk) 01:24, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Huntington Metro
This is the north mezzanine...well, the entrance to it at least. If the Kings Highway entrance is the south mezzanine, that is. I know that this is definitely the opposite entrance. I mean, I use it every day... :-) --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 04:35, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- Correct on all counts. That is the area just outside the north mezzanine, near the north bus loop. SchuminWeb (Talk) 16:19, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Listening Lord Carter?
No offense, but I question the logic in using an ip address that was regestered as an "I love Isaac Harding" vandal 7 months ago. In other words, not me! Yours faithfully, 2nd of July, 2009's 90.195.154.31
- Considering the difference in dates on your edit and the edit being warned about, I'm guessing that the vandal is long gone, and their IP got reassigned to you. In that case, feel free to disregard the talk page message. Really, it's one more reason why it's a good idea to set up a username for yourself. SchuminWeb (Talk) 17:37, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you
Thank you, but I ggenerally contribute on the french wikipedia (I created a lot of articles about ships of the White Star Line). I deleted what I found on the White Star article, but I do not speak well enough English to contribute on the English Wikipedia. LittleTony87 (talk) 18:30, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
