Welsh Super Cup
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Welsh International Super Cup is a youth soccer tournament played annually in Aberystwyth, Wales. The tournament is open for males aged U8 to U19 and females U12, U14, U16 & Open Age Ladies.
Over the years some of the world's most renowned football icons such as Andriy Shevchenko, Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Shay Given, Owen Hargreaves and Thomas Rosicky have participated in the tournament held at Aberystwyth.
The event replaced the formally known as the Ian Rush Football Tournament, where in 1990 Ian Rush awarded a pair of his boots to a boy who was top scorer in the tournament. The boy was Andriy Shevchenko, who is now one of the world's most famous footballers.
