Welcome to the Derbyshire WikiProject. We are a user group dedicated to improving and expanding Wikipedia's coverage of articles related to Derbyshire, England. We cover the city of Derby; the districts of Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, High Peak, North East Derbyshire and South Derbyshire; the Suburbs of Derby (Allenton, Allestree, Alvaston, Boulton, Chaddesden, Chellaston, Darley Abbey, Derwent, Derwent Heights, Heatherton Village, Litchurch, Little Chester, Littleover, Mackworth, Markeaton, Mickleover, Normanton, Oakwood, Osmaston, Pear Tree, Rose Hill, Shelton Lock, Sinfin, Spondon, Sunny Hill and Wilmorton), as well as "Special Articles" such as University of Derby, Derbyshire County Cricket Club and Derby County F.C.
- Our aims in the short term are to achieve the following:
- Our long term aims for the project are:
- Improving all Wikipedia articles that are concerned with Derbyshire, including its history, geography, people, buildings and structures, companies etc,
- All relevant articles should be included in the Category:Derbyshire or one of its subcategories,
- All Derbyshire related articles should be tagged, and then assessed. A task force for this will follow soon...
- This task has now passed the 1000 articles related to Derbyshire Tagged with the project banner and 95% or more have been assessed as of Oct 2008.
[edit] Participants
You don't need to be from Derbyshire to help with this WikiProject. We welcome editors good with layout and prose, and non-Derbyshire editors who can point out when we've wrongly assumed we don't need to explain or define something for the reader, or failed to properly establish the context of an article. We ask that users be registered, and are familiar with Wikipedia's various policies.
Please feel free to add yourself at the end of this list, and to indicate any areas of particular interest.

Now, this section really can't be described here - the main DYK? section is on the Portal, but soon all the DYK?s that we have had featured on the main page will appear here. We have had three authors so far and there is a fourth in progress Victuallers 12:29, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
